Happy New Year everyone!

Another year is dawning, dear Father, let it be
In working or in waiting, another year with Thee.
Another year of progress, another year of praise,
Another year of proving Thy presence all the days.

Another year of mercies, of faithfulness and grace,
Another year of gladness in the shining of Thy face;
Another year of leaning upon Thy loving breast;
Another year of trusting, of quiet, happy rest.

Another year of service, of witness for Thy love,
Another year of training for holier work above.
Another year is dawning, dear Father, let it be
On earth, or else in Heaven, another year for Thee.

We live in a day and age where people seem to be confused about the practices, structure and importance of the church. Christian nomadism, church hopping, neglect, and broken relationships are legendary in the modern church. People often leave their churches without even notifying the leaders or their brothers and sisters. They just disappear and never return. Sometimes this confusion is seen in the neglect of the discipleship program of the church, and the meetings of the church. Is it that we don’t understand the nature of the church? Is it that we don’t understand Christ’s love for the church or His sacrifice? Is it that our love for Christ is low so our love for the church is low? Is it possible that some even despise the church by their nonchalance?

Ultimately, we are praying for an outpouring of love for the bride of Christ and for faithful obedience to scripture in all areas of church life.

Speakers will include:

Doug Phillips

Paul Washer

Josue Raimundo

Don Hart

Joel Beeke

Andy Davis

Jason Dohm

Dan Horn

Charles Churchill

The Love the Church conference will be held in the Ridgecrest Conference Center in Asheville, NC.

On Sunday, June 6, we have the great privilege of baptizing Shea Breagy. We desire people to be baptized as believers so that they can identify themselves as God’s people. In our culture, many people are saved but are not baptized. That is because we don’t really consider how important baptism is. Baptism is commanded by God and is often the first act of obedience towards Him. It is also one of two ordinances of the church (the other being communion) and a time when a believer makes their profession of faith public. But, most importantly, it is a visual representation of the Gospel.

Often the question is How?

Well, when we are baptized, we are making the old man die and the new man raise from the dead with Christ.
